G&S Contracting was established with a can of paint and a borrowed ladder in 1976.

Owner Gary Starrett never could have guessed his small business idea would turn into what it is today. Fast forward nearly 40 years, Gary and his wife, Cathy, run G&S Contracting full time. G&S offers a variety of services for commercial and residential buildings, including new construction, remodeling, maintenance, painting, roofing, insulation, ventilation, and even ice removal. Small enough to care, yet large enough to complete large commercial projects, G&S has mastered its craft, and works with clients to make sure your needs are met. Located in Negaunee, Michigan, Gary and Cathy are proud to work in cooperation with local engineers, architects, and other contractors. As a member of the National Association of Home Builders, and the Upper Peninsula Home Builders Association, Gary is a knowledgeable resource, no matter the size of your project.
